Recently I was nominated for the Liebster Award, which is an award given to upcoming bloggers. Thank you The Brit and the Blonde for nominating me! I will be passing this award on but first we will share our answers to the 11 questions they gave me…
1. Why do you love travelling?
Monotony for me is tourture, and I guess for me travel is one of the best ways to break free from this.
2. Are you a budget-traveller or do you prefer luxury when you travel?
I would most definitely prefer luxury, but unfortunately my bank balance means I am - for now - a budget-traveller through and through.
3. Why did you start you blog?
I was getting the feeling that my friends and family were starting to get sick of my endless travel tales, and as such I needed a new outlet for my stories.
4. How do you afford to travel?
I was lucky enough to gain full-time employment straight out of high school, so I worked like a dog during my gap year and saved like crazy in order to fund my uni-adventures. Even now while working part-time I still make a lot of sacrifices in order to have sufficient travel funds.
5. What is the best place you’ve ever been to?
New York City is by far my favourite single place in the world, however my favourite country was certainly Morocco. The foods, the culture, the history and the people all culminated in one of the most amazing trips I could imagine.
6. If you had unlimited time and money, what would you be doing right now?
I would be backpacking around South America before heading up to the US, plonking myself down in New York City and buying tickets to every show on Broadway.

7. How do you stay healthy on the road (or not)?
I don't leave home without a bottle of Vitamin C. For me it's the single most important travel accessory, and has staved off many a cold whilst away.
8. If you travel solo, do you get lonely?
Not at all! Staying in hostels is one of the greatest parts of backpacking as it literally means you have an endless number of possible besties at your fingertips. I've had such fantastic days spent without random people I'd only met the night before, and have actually built some pretty strong friendships with people I've met whilst travelling.
9. What’s your biggest bucket-list goal?
Machu Picchu for sure - and this is one I'll hopefully be completing this year!
10. What is the most important lesson you’ve learnt on your travels?
Don't sweat the small stuff. Things will go wrong. There isn't any way to avoid delays, travel bugs and lost luggage. But you'll soon come to realise that none of these challenges are insurmountable, and it's usually the worst times that make for the best stories in the years to come.
11. What are your travel plans for 2016?
It'll be a pretty quiet one until the end of the year, as I tackle my final year of uni. However I definitely want to see more of my own country (yes, I know I finally need to visit Melbourne...) and then I have my celebratory uni-is-over South America trip to plan for the end of 2016!
My nominees is Tori at The Tori Trek!
