Okay, so this is a bit of a random blog post dedication, however after visiting a certain cafe today I couldn't not dedicate an entry to its quirkiness. And so, I give you my top three favourite vegetarian eateries in Adelaide.
Vego & Lovin' It
Level 1, 240 Rundle Street, Adelaide, SA 5000
So you're going to have to climb some pretty precarious stairs in order to reach this teeny tiny lunch venue, which absolutely oozes 'I've just walked into someone's kitchen' charm. The bright purple walls are adorned with vintage memorabilia (like a 1996 Fringe Festival poster! [look it up if you're not an Adelaidian]) and homely travel snaps, and you can literally see into what looks like a kitchen that's been taken straight out of someone's apartment. The food is also TDF. A range of delicious burgers, wraps and salads make up the menu board, and these are perfectly teamed with the freshly squeezed juices on order - extra points for the fact that they ran out of 'small' juice glasses when I ordered, resulting in a free upgrade for myself!
Zenhouse Tea Corner
17-19 Bent Street, Adelaide SA 5000
Vegetarian and vegan fare, with an Asian twist. This place is perfect to hit up if you want a massive meal at a teeny cost - the portions are generous, and their daily specials are cheap as anything. You also can't visit without trying one of their amazing tea blends (which you can buy to take home for yourself!!).
Two Bit Villains
Shop 128 & 130, Balcony Level, Adelaide Arcade, Rundle Mall, Adelaide SA 5000
I've definitely saved my favourite for last - this vintage inspired soda bar is probably one of my favourite places in Adelaide. Catering for both vegetarians and vegans, the 'all American' diner style menu has something to please even the fussiest eater. Beyond their amazing burgers (their sloppy joes are the best I've ever had) you can also try their curly fries, donuts and I can't forget their homemade soda!!
